R. foetida

('Austrian Yellow'). Bears bright sulphur-yellow, two and a half inch flowers, early in the season. Its fragrance is an acquired taste. Forms a pleasing but rather sparse shrub. Pale green foliage, brown stems, greyish thorns. Subject to blackspot; requires a warm position.
